Welcome to the website of the Pleasant Hill Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. Pleasant Hill is a small unincorporated community in Eastern Wilkes County with a population of 1,109. We cover a 16 square mile fire district that is bordered on the South East by the Town of Elkin; on the North East by State Road; on the North by Austin; and on the West by the Town of Ronda. We currently operate 6 pieces of apparatus out of one station with 31 active firefighters, 4 EMT-Basic, 1 EMT-Intermediate, 1 EMT-Paramedic, 6 medical responders, and 8 junior firefighters.

NEWS

 

 

On Monday January 18th we entered into a new venture here at the Pleasant Hill Volunteer Fire Department. We now have a paid fire fighter on duty 8:00am to 4:00pm seven (7) days a week.

Congrats to Wayne Evans and Timmy Ladd, our new day-time engineers.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

We currently have a 2010 International Pumper/Tanker on order with KME. The unit will feature a Hale 1500 GPM Pump with 1500 gallon tank. Other features include a top-mounted pump, 30 gal internal class A foam cell, ROM roll-up doors (painted), extended front bumper with 6” front swivel steamer, 2-1/2” discharge with jump line,  Newton 10” dump, and a Harrison 8KW hydraulic generator to name a few. The chassis is slated to arrive in Nesquehoning, PA mid February and the truck should be completed my mid to late April. Check back for updates.
