History

February 28th, 1958 a meeting was held at the Pleasant Hill School to discuss the possibilities of forming a volunteer fire department. After a series of meetings on March 25th, 1958 the Pleasant Hill Volunteer Fire Department was formed and a board of directors was formed and on June 24, 1958 Bryce Teague was elected as the first Fire Chief. On Saturday November 8, 1958 the department took delivery of its first truck, a 1958 Chevrolet/Howe Pumper with a 500gpm pump and 750 gallons of water at a total cost of $11,300.00.  The department answered its first alarm on Sunday November 23, 1958 at the home of Dr. Seth Beale where a fan on a furnace had malfunctioned, luckily there was no damage. Since that day we’ve constantly been striving to provide the very best fire protection to the citizens of the Pleasant Hill Community, as well as providing Automatic and Mutual Aid support to our neighboring departments.
